Worked first time with no adjustment
Now the starting behaviour is just the same as when my FS80 was when new. Pump a few times, full choke, cough on the first pull, half choke, pull and it’s running, give a few seconds to warm up, no choke and it’s good to go. Might need a tweak for full power under heavy load, but so what? Great carb. The only improvement I can think of is to include some straight fuel line. The bifurcated fuel line does not work with the tank. I had to snip off the tips of the old fuel line so it would get enough grip on the new carb’s fittings Now the starting behaviour is just the same as when my FS80 was when new. This aftermarket carburetor did NOT fix the high speed problem I was experiencing with my Stihl KM55 powerhead. I took it to my repair shop and they installed a genuine Stihl carb, and now it works great.
